Riddle...

It is difficult to understand all the feelings. My senses are overloaded. I am cold. I fear the pain I may experience if I reach out for you- the reminder of the fall. All I could do is brace myself, knowing I would be in more pain had I never tried.

The air around us changed. I made my plans in which you are a major player. I find myself less concerned with the meaning of your participation than that of my own desires. They are all I see when all I see is you. Past you, there is nothing, but together- the world expands! I want to ignite inside your soul a desperate need to leap towards the future. Standing still does not make time slow down, the moments keep ticking away. With each click a missed opportunity to embrace a new adventure.

I want to try to update our blog more, so here's to my newest effort!

Things in the O'Shea household are going well. Ellie turned the big 0-5 (hee hee) on the 20th of September. I think I have accepted the fact that I no longer have a "baby". She is a big girl now! In fact, she's already talking about when she's a teenager!!! Yikes!!! I keep telling her she doesn't want to be a teenager, but she doesn't believe me. What are we going to do?

Shawn's half way through his first term at the U. He's doing really well and seems to like it. I'm so proud of my college student!

Me? Well, I'm here, which in and of itself is enough to be grateful for.

Hopefully I'll have more interesting updates in the future. Although now I see why I keep forgetting to update.

Wow...

This morning, while driving to work. I noticed my normally mile-per-minute talker (Elliette) was being super quiet. I asked her what was wrong. She told me she was thinking about Joey. I asked her to tell me what she was thinking and here was her reply:

"Well I'm sad because he died, but I'm happy because I have his heart."

"What do you mean you have his heart?"

"Remember you said people keep all their love in their hearts...?"

"Yes..."

"Well when Joey died he gave me his heart so I would have two hearts and all his love."

I am amazed at the understanding and beauty in this statement. I also feel blessed, knowing that my baby girl has two hearts and all of her uncle's love.
